Description:  Westbound NS train 165 is just starting the trip from Asheville to Knoxville, TN, on a rainy morning. It had been sitting at the crossing, ditch lights off, waiting for a clear signal on the signal bar. The crossing gates were down, and the lights were flashing, and a crew member in a green safety vest was flagging traffic through the crossing. After a few minutes the crewman got on the locomotive, the ditch lights came on, the horn was blown, and the train started rolling to Knoxville.

Description:  12:04pm: An eastbound Norfolk Southern intermodal train running on the NS “A” line passes westbound NS train 165 which is waiting on the end of the “S” line. After the intermodal passes, train 165 will uncouple from the train and pull unto the Morristown yard where the last unit in the consist, NS D9-40C 8779, will be uncoupled and taken east on the A line. 165’s power will then re-couple to the train, and proceed west on the A line to Knoxville, TN.
